I have taught at Andrew Jackson Elementary School in Old Hickory, TN for the past five years. Andrew Jackson School is in the Metropolitan Nashville School District and serves 546 students in grades Pre-K through 4th. Our school offers programs for Blended Pre-Kindergarten, C-BIP, and ELL students, as well as general education classes. This is our first year as an ELL school, with one Kindergarten class, one First Grade class, and a blended second through fourth grade class, serving 42 students. The majority of our ELL students are from a Hispanic background this year, but we do have students whose first languages are Lao, Arabic, Gujarati, and French. Our school motto is "High Expectations for All" and our teachers strive to show that every day. All three of my children have attended Andrew Jackson. As a parent and teacher, I am proud to be a part of such a great school. For more information, please visit the website at http://www.andrewjacksones.mnps.org/site186.aspx.
